THE ZEST AND REFRESH RESET

AKA Lemonade Diet or The Master Cleanse

The Lemonade Diet, also known as the Master Cleanse, is a short-term detox plan designed to help eliminate toxins, reset your digestive system, and support your body's natural cleansing processes. This diet involves drinking a specially prepared lemonade mix made with fresh lemon juice, organic maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water.

The lemonade provides essential nutrients and energy, while the cayenne pepper stimulates circulation and aids in fat metabolism. Lemon juice acts as a natural cleanser, helping to flush out toxins and support liver function. Maple syrup offers natural sugars to maintain energy levels throughout the cleanse.

As you follow the Lemonade Diet, your body takes a break from processing solid foods, allowing your digestive system to reset and focus on detoxification. While this cleanse is not intended as a long-term solution, it can jumpstart healthier habits and leave you feeling lighter, more energized, and refreshed.
Remember to listen to your body and consult a healthcare professional before starting any detox or cleanse program.

    • 1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper (a small pinch)

  • Preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a glass and stir well. Prepare fresh lemonade each time to preserve nutrients.
How the cleanse works
______________________________________________________________________________________
The Basic Diet for Detoxification

1. Lemon Juice:
   - Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice. It is naturally alkaline initially but becomes acidic within a few hours. For optimal results, make only as much juice as you can consume at once.
   - If you're on the go, take whole lemons with you and prepare the juice when you're ready to drink it. This helps maintain the desired alkaline state before it transitions to acidic in the gut. Store lemons on the counter, not in a fridge.

2. Maple Syrup:
   - Avoid Pancake Syrup: It’s merely corn syrup with fake maple flavor and lacks nutrition. It also has a high glycemic index, which isn't beneficial for your cleanse.
   - Use Organic Grade B Maple Syrup: This is crucial as it contains more minerals and nutrients. The darker the syrup, the better it supports your cleansing needs. Avoid Grade A syrup as it is overly refined and doesn't provide the necessary minerals your body requires during the cleanse.

3. Cayenne Pepper:
   - This ingredient aids circulation, dilation of arteries and veins, and acts as a catalyst for cellular detoxification.
   - If you're sensitive to its spiciness, begin with a small pinch and gradually increase the amount every few days. Avoid taking cayenne in capsules or omitting it, as this diminishes the cleanse's effectiveness.

Note:
For a period of 10 days, your diet will consist solely of this drink. No food should be consumed during this time.

The Master Cleanse, also known as the Lemonade Diet, is a short-term detox and fasting program designed to cleanse the body and promote healing. It typically lasts 10 days but can be modified based on individual needs. Below is the recipe and protocol:

Daily Protocol

When embarking on a cleanse like the lemonade cleanse, where solid food intake is minimized, supporting your body's natural elimination process is essential. The goal is to help your body rid itself of unwanted toxins efficiently, and mornings become an ideal time to jumpstart this process.

This is where a saltwater flush or supplements come into play—they are vital tools in maintaining healthy bowel movements during this period. Without them, the absence of regular food can make it more challenging for your body to eliminate waste effectively, potentially hindering the detoxification process. By incorporating these aids into your routine, you ensure that the cleanse achieves its intended purpose: giving your body a fresh start.

Morning Saltwater Flush (Optional)

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 quart of warm water
    • 2 teaspoons of non-iodized sea salt
  • Instructions:
Drink the saltwater flush first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. This induces bowel movements within 30-60 minutes and helps flush toxins from the digestive tract.
  • Not a fan of the salt water? Then choose these supplements for flushing and elimination during the cleanse.
  • Peppermint (2 drops on the tongue), 2 Comfortone capsules, and Prebiotic Fiber- Take these at bedtime. These three supplements will help to get the mucus in the gut moving and help to eliminate waste and toxins more easily. Cleansing Protocol
***Choose one of the two methods above to help with elimination. You want as much toxins to be expelled as possible during this cleanse.

Lemonade Consumption

  • Drink 6-12 glasses of the lemonade mixture daily, spread evenly throughout the day.
  • Avoid any solid foods or snacks.

Evening Herbal Laxative Tea

  • Drink a cup of herbal laxative tea in the evening to encourage detoxification and regular bowel movements. Look for natural, caffeine-free teas.

Additions

  • Drink additional purified water throughout the day to stay hydrated. Make sure you are getting 1/2 your body weight in ounces per day between the water and lemonade mixture.
  • Peppermint tea may be consumed to soothe digestion.

Duration

  • The cleanse is traditionally done for 10 days, but beginners can start with 3-5 days.
  • Some experienced cleansers extend it up to 14 days.
  • Use in conjunction with the 28 To Elev8 Program (the 5 day cleanse) 5 day cleanse workbook

Ease-In and Ease-Out

If you decide to follow the plan without eating any solid food, please refer to the "Ease-In" and "Ease-Out" section of the diet below, which helps your body adjust gently into and out of the cleanse for optimal results.

However, if you prefer to eat while on the diet, you can opt for the 5-day cleanse provided here. Either plan is good. Just make sure you are mixing the lemonade mix per recipe above.

Ease-In (3 Days) For this, you can also use the 28 To Elev8 - 5 day cleanse here

Gradually prepare your body for the cleanse:
  1. Day 1: Eliminate processed foods, caffeine, and alcohol. Focus on fresh fruits and vegetables.
  2. Day 2: Transition to soups and broths.
  3. Day 3: Consume only freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices.

Cautions and Considerations

  • The Master Cleanse is not recommended for long-term use or as a weight-loss solution.
  • Pregnant or nursing individuals, or those with medical conditions, should consult a healthcare provider before attempting the cleanse.
  • Some may experience detox symptoms like headaches, fatigue, or irritability during the first few days.

Optional Variations

  • Add 1/4 teaspoon of bentonite clay or activated charcoal to a glass of lemonade to aid toxin binding (ensure sufficient hydration).
  • Combine with light stretching, yoga, or meditation to support the detox process.
This protocol should be followed responsibly and with a clear purpose, such as resetting digestion or detoxifying.

Sometimes you may get a headache during a cleanse as the toxins are moving out of the body. After about 3 days, the headaches go away. But you do want to make sure you are getting enough lemonade throughout the day since this is the only thing you are consuming is the lemonade. During this time, you are having a lot of toxins being released as well, so keep this in mind as you go through the cleanse.
Please note: You will exclusively consume this drink for 10 days without eating any solid food.

Ease-out:

Easing out of the cleanse involves gradually reintroducing wholesome foods into your diet to help your body adjust smoothly and maintain the benefits of the cleansing process.

Start Here with the easing out process:

Day 1:

Your body has not had any food for several days, so it is important to make sure you are following this plan carefully. Your digestion will be sensitive at this point.

  • Fresh fruit and vegetable juices. You can do a juicer for this or make it like a smoothie with added ice. Don't add in any milk at this point.
  • Sip slowly. Dilute with water if needed. Continue drinking the lemonade between times. Plus remember the water you are suppose to be drinking daily as well.

Day 2:
Soups and broths.
You can use the soups recipes from the 5 day cleanse as well as the broth recipe from below to begin getting back to normal.

Day 3:
Today you can begin to eat more normal foods.
  1. Light meals with whole fruits, vegetables, and easily digestible proteins.
  2. Here you can go back to the 5 day cleanse and add in the salads. More sustainable foods.
  3. Day 4, begin using your diet and meal plan from your personalized plan I have given you.

  • Follow the instructions of making the lemonade mixture above. Drinking this mixture each morning and each evening.
  • Drink 1/2 your body weight in water daily. Add 2-3 drops of Lemon essential oil to your water throughout the day.

  • Follow this plan for 2 weeks.
Doing this plan will allow the liver and kidneys to take a break and not have to work so hard as well as cleaning out some of the unwanted toxins.
