21 years ago, our lives took a turn we never expected. Our sweet Jake was born, and he was perfect in every way. But just two weeks later, we received a call that changed everything we knew. 

To the moms out there who’ve had that gut-wrenching call, I see you. I felt that same heart-stopping fear when I heard, “This is Suzanne from the Children's Hospital Metabolic Clinic. We need you to bring Jake in for more tests. We think he may have PKU." Of course, like any mom does, I googled PKU and found many different, scary things that made my heart sink more.

Raising four children with PKU taught me resilience and the power of a supportive community. From learning to navigate specialized diets to embracing a healthier lifestyle, PKU has, in many ways, strengthened our family bond. 

Jake’s journey, beginning with that unexpected diagnosis, inspired me to create a business that helps others on their health journeys. By going back to school and  becoming a Functional Nutritionist, I have had the opportunity to not only help my own kids navigate their diagnosis, but also countless others. Through educating others on the importance of living with less chemicals in their homes in their bodies we are able to Today, I reflect with immense gratitude for how PKU has enriched our lives and the journey it’s led us on.
